Character Information
*Character Name: Breakdown
*Character Canon: Transformers Prime
*Age: Older than some but younger than others
*Race: Cybertronian
*Timeline/Pull Point: After Crossfire, so Breakdown will be pretty aware of when and how he died.
*History:Transformers Wiki, though for some reason the title is WFC
*Personality:
Once upon a time, Breakdown was a extremely paranoid, despite his skill as a warrior, and could not stand large crowds. Upon joining the Decepticons, he was able to overcome his paralysing paranoia and move on with life. Breakdown likes to shoot first and ask questions never, that’s his favorite way of dealing with most of his problems. When in battle, he tends to be... somewhat careless, to the point where he sometimes ends up hitting fellow Decepticons instead of his intended target. He’s never particularly sorry when he does make thishonest mistake, even if this mistake happens to his partner, Knock Out.
While he may be one of the strongest, he certainly isn’t the brightest sparkplug in the drawer. Not to say that he’s completely stupid, but it is very unlikely that Breakdown will ever be the one to come up with a complicated plan, but who needs an overly complicated plan anyway? While he has his pride, Breakdown is not above negotiating with others and sharing glory, as long as the goal is accomplished in the end. Breakdown is brute, something that he’s proud of, but he doesn’t have the mindless temper that some brutes are known for. He’s actually pretty calm most of the time, mostly because he doesn’t always care about what’s happening. That said, he’s perfectly capable of being a grade A asshole and likes to have fun with it when he can.
When he was kidnapped and experimented on by MECH, it was the Autobots who came to rescue him, and when Starscream staged his own “rescue”, the Decepticon Commander told him that he would one day have to choose: Megatron, or Starscream himself. It is interesting to note that Breakdown does have some shred of “honour” somewhere in his programming, as shown by his hesitation to attack Bulkhead at first when Bulkhead saved him from being completely torn apart by MECH. However, he sees no problem with fighting Bulkhead at a later time. As far as he’s concerned, he payed Bulkhead during their battle and doesn’t owe him anymore.
The person he trusts the most is Knock Out, and being subservient to the medic does not bother him in the slightestusually. If Knock Out needs something heavy moved, or some menial task done, than Breakdown is the bot who will do it, though he’ll have a thing or two to say about it. Surprising, Breakdown is a fairly dedicated and devoted worker, often keeping to his tasks until he’s done with them. Often he and Knock Out retreat from battle even though he’d prefer to keep fighting, but whatever his partner says pretty much goes.
When it comes to humans, Breakdown is wary of them. Before his capture by MECH he viewed them as silly little animals who occasionally got in the way and ended up as pets for the Autobots. He hadn’t taken them seriously or considered that they might have thoughts and personalities before, but that changed when he was captured by MECH. Breakdown spoke to the leader, Silas, directly, and understood that Silas only viewed him as a machine that existed so that MECH could cut him open.
Are you having a tender and heartwarming moment that defines your relationship? Well no worries, because Breakdown will happily interrupt it with a snarky comment and maybe a giant pillar being thrown your way like a javelin. When it comes to sensitivity... Breakdown can stand to have a few lessons, and would need a very patient teacher. Who cares about it anyway? When it comes to snark and the delicate art of puns, he has no equal, and he often spends most of his time bantering back and forth with Knock Out.
*Powers/Abilities: Breakdown’s sheer physical strength is formidable, most bots don’t want to get in the way of his hammer when he swings it around haphazardly. Both of his hands have the ability to transformers into massive hammers, and has a cannon on his left shoulder while he’s in his robot mode. In his alt-mode he can fire large missiles that can cause a lot of damage. Breakdown’s alt-mode is a large military-like truck.
Breakdown can take a lot of damage, which was shown when he had his chest sliced open and was still able to fight afterwards. Also he has thrown himself off a thousand foot ice glacier and came out in pretty good shape. When you're challenging Autobots to battle, there's no reason why your entrance shouldn't be grand after all.

If AU, how does your character differ from canon?: (Non AU apps may ignore this question. CRAUs and OAUs should get in to specifics here regarding what changes there are from their character's original canon. We'll need at least a paragraph explaining details.)
Writing Samples
*First Person Sample:
Is anyone else getting kinda bored around here? Not sure what we’re supposed to do now that we’re not allowed to beat each other’s faces in.
[Bored Breakdown is bored and looks bored.]
Hey, what if we beat each other’s faces in and called it a sport? I’m sure that’s a thing somewhere. Yeah, we should do that.
Unless someone else has already [wait for it] beaten me to the punch.
[Haha geddit?]
*Third Person Sample:
Cybertron.
Breakdown sometimes thought of it. Not always though, since when he did he felt a powerful unease and a little bit of regret. It was not the best place in the Universe, but it had been home. Now it was nothing but massive grave where many of Breakdown’s comrades lay scattered on its surface. They had followed Megatron, and this was were it lead them. But how could they not follow Megatron? How could they not be taken in by his message that all Cybertronians were not only created equal, but should be allowed to choose their own destiny.
Everything that had happened between the time he first heard of Megatronus as a nameless worker to the end of Cybertron as Breakdown felt like it happened in a blink of an eye. It hadn’t of course, the war lasted several of centuries before it destroyed Cybertron, forcing both sides to take their battle elsewhere.
That somewhere ended up being this stupid little blue planet “Earth”. Breakdown didn’t like organic planets in general, they were difficult, wet, and it was easy to get stuck while driving around. Earth was teeming with sentient lifeforms that they had to go through a great deal of trouble to evade, and that annoyed Breakdown to no end. He had started to wonder recently what they were really capable of. If a group of them can take down a Decepticon without much effort, than what else could they do?
Well he wasn’t going to worry about it on the Medical Bay. Knock out wanted the place clean, and Breakdown was going to get it clean. Breakdown usually did this to appease Knock Out, since the other mech loved ducking responsibilities and Breakdown didn’t care enough one way or another. Besides, he enjoyed having the Medical Bay to himself while Knock Out went out racing, quiet is nice in small doses, and he doesn’t mind chatting up the odd vehicon who wanders in.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when his hand slipped and he cut himself with one of Knock Out’s surgical tools. He scowled at the cut on the back of his hand and quickly went to grab a soldering tool, wanting to mend the cut before he got energon everywhere. He just finished cleaning the place, he didn’t want to be the one to mess it all up again.
Final Notes: Breakdown would have helped with building in the past, just for the sake of having something to do. He also probably suffered boredom and lack of direction if nobody he knew was in the Haven at the time. The memories he has probably aren’t fond ones.
